My relationship with Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino

I frequently get asked why I use Acqua Panna & San Pellegrino in restaurants. The answer is simple. First and foremost the quality of the water is unparalleled. San Pellegrino, being my favourite, has just the right amount of gas and not too salty. The Acqua Panna is also not too sweet, like waters tend to be at times.

The point I always make when talking about the Italian waters, is what they do for the industry internationally. All you need to do is look at the current World’s Best 50 Restaurants to see the role they play. Also look at Fine Dining Lovers for more up to date info on what is currently happening in the industry.

In South Africa they are involved with numerous events like The Eat Out Awards and Taste Festival and are always sponsoring South African Chefs, bringing them to Italy to grow and learn from some of the best chefs in the world. Just recently I have had the pleasure of cooking with the likes of Massimo Bottura and Sebastian Bras at the San Pellegrino Chefs Cup in Alta Badia.

In 2011 I had the privilege of judging The San Pellegrino Cooking Cup with Elena Arzak. So all the time we are obviously getting great exposure but more importantly we networking and learning from the best in industry.
