My relationship with Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino

My relationship with Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino

I frequently get asked why I use Acqua Panna & San Pellegrino in restaurants. The answer is simple. First and foremost the quality of the water is unparalleled. San Pellegrino, being my favourite, has just the right amount of gas and not too salty. The Acqua Panna is also not too sweet, like waters tend to be at times.

The point I always make when talking about the Italian waters, is what they do for the industry internationally. All you need to do is look at the current World's Best 50 Restaurants to see the role they play. Also look at Fine Dining Lovers for more up to date info on what is currently happening in the industry.

In South Africa they are involved with numerous events like The Eat Out Awards and Taste Festival and are always sponsoring South African Chefs, bringing them to Italy to grow and learn from some of the best chefs in the world. Just recently I have had the pleasure of cooking with the likes of Massimo Bottura and Sebastian Bras at the San Pellegrino Chefs Cup in Alta Badia.

In 2011 I had the privilege of judging The San Pellegrino Cooking Cup with Elena Arzak. So all the time we are obviously getting great exposure but more importantly we networking and learning from the best in industry.

That's why I will always support Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino. Thank you for your ongoing support of our industry internationally.

More about Acqua Panna & San Pellegrino

San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna are the perfect interpretation of the Italian style and art of living in the world. Synthesis of excellence, pleasure and well-being the two leading natural mineral waters have become worldwide a synonymous of gourmet food and wine culture

The two brands of water are widely appreciated for their ability to combine perfectly in enhancing foods, wines and refined tastes through their properties: Acqua Panna is smooth, light and velvety, while S.Pellegrino is bright, fizzy and refined. What makes S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna the Fine Dining brands of water is their undisputed elective affinity with the world of wines and, more in general, high-quality catering.

Water and wine are a team that cannot be split up and that is even more closely bound at the table: Acqua Panna, for example, blends perfectly with a light wine having a moderate alcohol content. On the contrary, S.Pellegrino goes perfectly with full-bodied and vintage wines. These considerations emerge from a meticulous study conducted in collaboration with the authoritative organization Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI).

The results of this original and innovative work have given rise to the Water Codex, a work that establishes a new approach to mineral water tasting in high-quality catering and now represents a point of reference for caterers all over the world.

The two brands also share strong, enchanting values such as their Italian origin, the history that led to their success, the elegance and balance of their taste. Values that are clearly expressed through their two logos, the unmistakable star of S.Pellegrino and the Florentine fleur-de-lis of Acqua Panna. S.Pellegrino, Acqua Panna and Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages are international trademarks of San Pellegrino S.p.A. which is based in Milan, Italy. Distributed in over 120 countries through branches and distributors in all five continents, these products represent quality excellence by virtue of their origins and perfectly interpret Italian style worldwide as a synthesis of pleasure, health and well-being.

Founded in 1899, San Pellegrino S.P.A. is the leading company in the beverage sector in Italy with its range of mineral waters, non-alcoholic aperitifs, drinks and iced teas. As a major Italian producer of mineral water, it has always been committed to enhancing this primary good for the planet and works responsibly and passionately to ensure that this resource has a secure future.
